Sudden deaths can affect everyone differently. Unfortunately, most deaths do occur under unexpected circumstances, and car accidents account for a considerable number of those fatalities. When an accident does result in one or multiple deaths, the surviving family members of the victims may have reason to seek compensation from the driver considered at fault through wrongful death claims.

Such claims may be filed in Colorado after a recent accident led to the deaths of two people. Reports stated that the incident involved two vehicles and took place on Interstate 70. Apparently, a silver car failed to remain in the correct lane and hit a darker colored vehicle that was in the center lane of the road. The collision caused both vehicles to overturn.

Two individuals in the darker vehicle suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The driver of that car was seriously injured and taken from the scene for treatment. The driver and passenger in the silver car were also transported from the scene due to injuries, but details on those injuries were not disclosed. At the time of the report, authorities suspected that impairment may have been a contributing factor, but the incident was still under investigation.

The families of the individuals killed in this Colorado crash may feel that seeking justice for their losses could be in their best interests. Wrongful death claims filed against the driver considered responsible for the incident may allow them to pursue monetary compensation for funeral expenses, additional costs and other resulting damages. Information on this type of legal action may help them determine whether they would like to follow this course of action.
