The internet has crept into many aspects of modern life, including political advertising and communications among friends. Now, it may have found its way into the investigation of auto accidents.
A three-vehicle crash on Highway 85 between Brighton and Fort Lupton has killed on person and apparently injured two others. According to police, a Chevrolet compact car was headed south in the northbound lane of Hwy. 85. The Chevy struck a northbound mini-van head-on. After hitting the mini-van, the Chevy hit a dump truck. The driver of the Chevy, the vehicle’s only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the mini-van and a child who was a passenger were both injured. The man was taken to Denver Health Medical Center, and the child was hospitalized at Northern Colorado Medical Center. The driver of the truck apparently did not require hospitalization.
Twitter comments from two witnesses are being used by police to determine what caused the accident. One Twitter user tweeted that he was heading northbound when he was passed by the wrong-way vehicle. A second witness tweeted that he was passed by the wrong-way driver between Fort Lupton and Platteville. These tweets may assist police in determining the speed of the wrong-way vehicle.
Anyone who has been injured or lost a loved one in a multi-vehicle accident may wonder about bringing a lawsuit to recover damages from the party or parties who are responsible for the accident. An experienced auto accident attorney may be able to provide a helpful analysis of the evidence and an opinion on the likelihood of recovering damages for medical expenses, lost income and pain and suffering.
