Be aware of avoidance behaviors

As a response to trauma, some people may avoid doing anything that is associated with the traumatic event. This could mean that they avoid driving past the home of their loved one, or that they avoid driving altogether because their loved one was killed in a collision. Avoidance behaviors are often subconscious and generally prohibit the healing process.
